JOHN HOLS

John Austin Hols, 55, of Burlington, formerly of Farmington, died Monday, Apr. 11 at 12:55 a.m. at Burlington Hospital.

He was born Jan. 9, 1911, in Eddyville, the son of William and Lora Rector Hols.

On June 4, 1932 at Fort Madison, he married Edith Jones of Farmington, who survives.

He was a graduate of Farmington High School and was employed in Farmington before moving to Keokuk where he worked for Swift Company. He later moved to Burlington. He was plant superintendent of Central Soya in Burlington; was a member of the VFW, and a veteran of World War II with the Navy.

He is also survived by two sons, John Jr., of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and David R. of Minneapolis; three sisters, Mrs. Mahalia Swift of Keokuk, Mrs. Hattie Grimwood of Ft. Madison and Mrs. Lora Pieper of Chicago; two grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Apr. 13 at 10:30 a.m. in the Elliott-Lunning chapel at Burlington with Dr. John Rose officiating. Burial will be in the Bonaparte cemetery Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.
