WILLIAM NORRIS

BIRMINGHAM - William Pitt Norris, 57, died of cancer March 14 at his home in Des Moines.

A memorial service was held March 17 at Central Presbyterian Church in Des Moines.

He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Norris of Birmingham.

He was chairman of the board of Commercial State Bank of Marshalltown when he retired in January. He was past president of the Iowa Society for the Prevention of Blindness.

Survivors: his wife, the former Betty Gage; a son, John Norris; and a daughter Penelope Gage Norris McWilliams.
