GLEN SHEROD

KEOSAUQUA - Glen W. Sherod, 86, died the afternoon of Jan. 4, at Van Buren County Hospital.

He was born to Reason and Mary Miles Sherod on March 19, 1891, near Winchester. On June 20, 1918, he married Phyllis Kittle who died in 1976.

He served in the Army Engineer Corps during World War I and was a 60-year member of the American Legion. He worked as a mechanic, including 37 years at the Ford garage in Keosauqua before retiring in 1970. He was the official weather observer for Van Buren County and recently received recognition for 30 years' service.

Survivors: nieces Mrs. Elizabeth Wallace and Marion Dunshee, both of Keosauqua.

Services: 2 p.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, the Rev. John Cornish officiating. Burial: Fellows Cemetery, with military rites by Beer-Barker Legion Post 113. Memorials: to the American Legion and Auxiliary.
