Lloyd (Shorty) Jemison

Lloyd F. (Shorty) Jemison, 76, of 137 Minnesota died Sunday at 10 p.m. at the St. Joseph Hospital.

Born June 19, 1899 at Mount Sterling to Warren and Laura Knowles Jemison, he had lived in Ottumwa since 1943 and was a member of the Modern Woodmen. He had been an employe of the former Lagomarcino-Grupe Co. for 23 years prior to retirement in 1964. He married Helen Casady Rugh April 25, 1933, at Carthage, Ill. She survives.

Other survivors are one daughter, Helen Basso of Waianae, Hawaii; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one sister, Wilda Syfert of Kansas City, Mo.; and one brother, Raymond Jemison of Oskaloosa.

Arrangements are pending at the Johnson Funeral Chapel.

Jemison service

The funeral service for Lloyd F. *Shorty) Jemison, 76, of 137 Minnesota, who died Sunday evening at St. Joseph Hospital, will be Wednesday, 1:30 p.m., at the Johnson Funeral Chapel.

The Rev. Dale Arnott-Johnson of the Finely Avenue Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery at Cantril.
