LEONARD L. SHEETS

Leonard L. Sheets, son of Henry and Rose Watkins Sheets, was born August 29, 1904, near Mt. Sterling, and departed this life Wednesday, October 15, 1975, at Van Buren Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua at the age of 71.

He lived his entire life in the Mt. Sterling community, where he farmed, was in the coal and trucking business and served on the town council. Remaining to cherish his memory are a sister, Mrs. Hazel Alexander, of Keosauqua, three nieces and two nephews. His parents and a brother, Edgar, preceded him in death. He was a good neighbor and friend to all.

Funeral services were held Friday, October 17, 1975, at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Sterling United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Herbert DeMello, pastor, officiating. Mrs. james Charbonneau was the soloist and Mrs. Clell Parish the pianist. Pall bearers were Alfred Thornberry, Arthur Hamlet, Clell Parish, Max Madden, Luvene Heald, and Dale Mize. Intermetn was in the Center Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
