MADALENE DAUGHRITY WELLBORN

Mrs. Madalene Daughtrity Wellborn, daughter of Chauncey and Effie Cochran Smith, was born June 3, 1908, at Cantril, and departed this life Tuesday, October 7, 1975, at Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield at the age of 67. Most of her life was spent in the Cantril community.

On June 11, 1927, she married Selman H. Daughrity, who preceded her in death in 1970.

Remaining to cherish her memory are two daughters, Mrs. Kay Jennings of Browning, Missouri, and Mrs. Jane Martin of Cantril; sons-in-law Kenneth Jennings and Dean Martin; five grandchildren; three brothers, Lloyd and Edgar Smith, both of Cantril and Jack Smiht of Santa Fe Springs, California; other relatives and many friends.

She was a member of the Cantril United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women, Cantril Chapter Order of Eastern Star, and was active in numerous other community activities throughout her life.

Funeral services were held Friday, October 10, 1975, at 2 p.m. at the Cantril United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Herbert DeMello, pastor, officiating. David Long was the soloist and Mrs. Merle McDonald the organist. Pall Bearers were Rodney Robinson, James Charbonneau, Charles Morris, Bill Smith, Jerry Smith, and John Creath. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery at Cantril. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
