CHARLES LAWRENCE STARR

Word has been received here of the death of Charles Lawrence Starr August 28, 1974 in a hospital at Castro Valley, Calif., where he had been a patient since August 13 when he suffered a broken hip.

Mr. Starr was born August 30, 1888 at Keosauqua, the son of Robert Hillis and Mary C. Smith Starr. He was the last immediate member of the family of eleven children. His twin brother William Starr passed away May 26, 1974 also following hip surgery.

Charles Starr and Blanche Morris were married March 12, 1911 at Kahoka, Mo. She survives as do two sons: Robert Starr of Shingle Springs, Calif., and James Starr of Yuba City, Calif., four granddaughters, one grandson, four great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons.

A son, Charles Starr was killed in action in Europe August 3, 1943.

The Starr family moved from Iowa to Cashmere, Washington, in the 1920's and later to Castro Valley, California.

Funeral services and burial were held at Marysville, Calif., Saturday, August 31.
