William Salter

DOUDS William Pearl Salter, 89, died Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Shady Rest Nursing Home in Bonaparte, where he had been six weeks.

He was born Feb. 18, 1884, near Douds, to William and Nancy Martendale Salter. As a young man, he moved to New York state, where he lived until retiring to Douds about 20 years ago. He was employed in a wire fabrication factory and as a stonemason.

He was preceded in death by his wife, three sister, and a brother.

The service will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Earl D. Kelly officiating. Burial will be in the Leando Cemetery.
