Mrs. Irene L. Wells

Mrs. Irene L. Wells, who had lived at the Mayflower Home, 616 Broad Street, Grinnell, Iowa since 1959, died Thursday evening, July 13th after a prolonged illness.

Anne Irene Leffler was born April 2, 1881 on the home farm southeast of Stockport, Iowa, the eldest daughter of Andrew J. and Lydia Vale Leffler. She married Earl H. Wells in 1908 and lived in Ohio for many years. One son, Ronald V. Wells of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and two grandsons survive her. She is also survived by one brother, John M. Leffler of Stockport, and two sisters, Mrs. Martha Forman of Grinnell and Mrs. Mary Nelson of Goldfield, Iowa.

Burial was at Cleveland, Ohio on July 17th.

A memorial service for Mrs. Wells will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 28, at the Mayflower Home in Grinnell. The family requests that no flowers be sent. A memorial scholarship fund has been established in her memory. Any rememberances for Mrs. Wells may be sent to Mrs. Martha Forman, 616 Broad St., Grinnell, Iowa 50102.
