Beverley Fitzner

Beverley Lindsay Fitzner, daughter of Mrs. S.G. Lindsay of Bonaparte and the late Dr. S.G. Lindsay, passed away June 1 in West Des Moines, Iowa.

She was born Sept. 23, 1929 in Bonaparte. She was a graduate of the Bonaparte High School, and graduated with a B.A. degree in journalism from the University of Iowa in 1952.

Among other positions in the field of journalism and public relations, she had been managing editor of the Red Cross News, Mid-America chapter. At the time of her deth she was director of communications for the Easter Seal Society of Iowa and editor of publications for the society's Camp Sunnyside at Ankeny, Iowa.

She is survived by her husband, Stanton W. Fitsner, of West Des Moines; two sons from a former marriage, Richard and Eric. Other survivors are her mother, and three sisters: Martha Carley of Bonaparte, Mrs. Shirley Strieber of Crofton, Maryland and Audrey of Fort Madison, Iowa.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bonaparte. Funeral services were held there on June 4, with Reverend Gerald Ogden officiating. Interment was in White Cemetery at Bonaparte.

Arrangements were by Catcott Funeral Home, Keosauqua, Iowa.

Relatives and friends attended from Chicago, West Des Moines, Ankeny and surrounding towns.

A memorial fund has been establised for Camp Sunnyside, State of Iowa Easter Seal Society, Ankeny, Iowa.
