On September 2, 1908, she was married to William B. Tade. They farmed in the Harrisburg community until 1950 when they moved to Hillsboro. Mr. Tade passed away in 1061. She was also preceded in death by a brother, a sister, and a son, Donald, who died in World War II.

She was a member of the Harrisburg Baptist Church and for many years served as church pianist. She was also a member of Chapter AB, PEO at Bonaparte and throughout her life was active in various community betterment organizations. As a young lady she taught school, and had always maintained a keen interest in poetry, literature, and current events.

Her sense of humor, her devotion to the calling of wife, mother and grandmother and her philosphy of life will be remembered by all who knew her, and these memories will live on as a fitting memorial to a person who did her part toward making her home, community, and the world a better place in which to live.

POEM FOR THE LIVING
When I am dead,
Cry for me a little.
Think of me sometimes,
But not too much.
It is not good for you
Or your wife, or your husband
Or your children
To allow your thoughts to dwell
too long on the dead.
Think of me now and again
As I was in life
At some moment which it is pleasant to recall.
But not for long.
Leave me in peace
And I shall leave you, too, in peace.
While you live,
Let your thought be with the living.

Funeral services were held Sunday, December 5, 1971 at 1:30 P.M. at the Harrisburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Levi Winfrey and the Rev. Lester Smith officiating. Mrs. Vinton Hoaglin was the organist. Pall bearers were John Dodds, Stanley L. Miller, Dr. J.O. Ewing, J.M. Dodds, David Phelps, and Loren Ewing. Interment was in the Vale Cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home.
