Walter Martin

Mr. Walter Martin, 50, of Augusta, died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 28 at the Park Manor nursing home where he had been a patient two weeks.

The son of Tom and Jessie Ramey Martin, he was born Sept. 25, 1921 in Henry county, Iowa. He was married June 25, 1945 at Kahoka, Mo. to Mildred Pender.

He was a member of the Danville Masonic Lodge No. 48 A.F. & A.M. Davenport Consistory and Kaaba Shrine.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Dicki Stinson of Ft. Madison and two sons, Robert of Ft. Madison and Gordon at home; his stepmother, Mrs. Ervin Eckwall, of Fairfield; one brother, Thomas M. Martin of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Beach of Denmark and Mrs. Erma Lee Teel of Ft. Madison; two half-brothers, Wilbur Martin and Dean Martin, both of Cantril.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1 at the Elliott Chapel in New London. The Rev. Fredrick Moore officiated. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Mt. Pleasant. Masonic rites were held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel.
