Mrs. Arlene Church

Mrs. Elmer Church, 53, of Piedmont, Mo. died at Poplar Bluff Hospital at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, following acute heart attack early in the day. she was born July 19, 1918 at Kilbourne, Ia., a daughter of Mrs. Annie Towne and the late A. Vere Towne.

In June of 1943 she was united in marriage to Elmer Church at Christian Church in Memphis, Missouri.

Also surviving are her husband, Elmer Church and a daughter, Sandra Church of the Home; Terrance Lee of Gray Summitt, Mo.; Vere Edward of United States Army stationed in Chicago, Ill.; two grandchildren, Mary Anne and Chas. Eric Church; a mother, Mrs. Annie Towne, Stockport, Ia.; three sisters, Garnet Schleeter, Arbela, Mo., Elizabeth Bratton, Moline, ill., Charlotte Bratton, Milan, Ill.; several nieces and nephews.

Her early life was spent in and near Kilbourne, Ia. The past several years being spent at Piedmont, Missouri.

Services were held at Gish-Bowles Chapel in Piedmont, Mo. on Dec. 2 at 1:30 p.m.. The Rev. Wm. Vineyard officiated. Interment was in Clay Cemetery, south Piedmont, Missouri.

The organist was Marjorie Bowles and soloist, Glendall Twidell. The songs were "Lily of the Valley", "Old Rugged Cross," "Little Brown Church." Body bearers were Carroll Schleeter, Shabius Pyles, Glen Tooke, Mike Allen. Bob Eaton, Marvin Bowles, Larry Church, David Church, and P.I. Church.
