Horton Bailey Tucker

The funeral service for Horton Bailey Tucker, 64, of Fairmont, Minn. was held Nov. 18 at Fairmont. Burial was in the Fairmont cemetery.

Mr. Tucker, a former resident of Farmington, died Nov. 15 in Fairmont Community Hospital following a heart attack.

He was born Oct. 9, 1907 at Farmington, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rollin Tucker.

Mr. Tucker was employed by Benner Tea Co. for seven years before he entered the Army. He served overseas in W.W. II.

He married Gloria Anna Gould in Sibley. She survives. He was manager of the Red Owl store in Sibley. In 1954 he moved to Fairmont, Minn. where he managed the Red Owl store until June of 1970 when he retired. He then was employed by DeWar Electric Inc.

A member of the Fairmont Congregational Church, Mr. Tucker also belonged to the Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, American Legion and VFW post.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by a son David who is serving in the Navy; and a daughter, Beck, at home; his stepmother, Mrs. May Tucker of Farmington, a patient in a nursing home at Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Mrs. Ralph Hollin of Milton and Mrs. Thelbert Turner of Missouri; two half-brothers, Maxwell Tucker of Madison, S.D. and Norville Tucker of Iowa City; and a step-brother, Elwood Vance of Farmington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a half-sister, Sara Mae Jamison; and a half-brother, Merle Tucker.
