Mrs. Nancy Lawson

Mrs. Nancy L. Lawson, 85, Douds, died Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 30, at the home of her son, Melvin, at Mount Horeb, Wis.

Daughter of Andrew and Ida Crawford Biggs, she was born in Ohio and moved with her parents to Van Buren County as a child. Most of her life was spent in the Douds community. On Dec. 8, 1904, she married Bige C. Lawson in Ottumwa. He died in 1961.

Survivors include two sons, Melvin of Mount Horeb, Wis., and Ivan of Mount Pleasant, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Edith Sumner of Eldon and Mrs. Wanda Lane of Newton; seven grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Hootman of Birmingham.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. at the Zion Bible Church near Douds. The Rev. Gerald Caughran and the Rev. Robert Bowers officiated. Interment was in Mount Moriah Cemetery.
