Gertrude G. Turner

Gertrude Galland Turner, 95, of Farmington, died Monday, Oct. 4, at 9:50 p.m. in the Golden Year Home at New London. She had been in failing health for one month.

She was born Sept. 23, 1876 in Clark County, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Hily Ann Nichols Galland.

She married Dr. H.H. Turner of canton, Mo. on March 6, 1900 at Chambersburg, Mo. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of chapter O PEO and Mizpah chapter No. 24 OES in Farmington and was a past Grand Esther of the Grand Chapter OES in Iowa. She was a charter member of teh Shakespeare clug; and was a member of the Farmington Congregational Chruch.

In the fall of 1958 she made her home with her nephew, C.H. Galland and family, where she lived seven and one-half years.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Alpha Pape of Yuba City, Calif., nephews and nieces.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

The funeral service was held Wednesday, Oct. 6, at 2 p.m. in the Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington. The Rev. Victor Engelmann officiated. Burial was in the Farmington cemetery.
