Mrs. Elsie Chaney

Mrs. Elsie Chaney, 80, of Bonaparte died Saturday, July 31, at 3:45 a.m. in the Hainline Rest Home, Bonaparte. She had been in failing health for one year.

She was born Aug. 27, 1890, at Farmington, the daughter of John and Emma Von Seggen Delker. She spent her childhood in Farmington.

She was married to Iowa Huter who preceded her in death. She later married Roy Chaney who also preceded her in death.

She spent most of her life in the Bonaparte area. Mrs. Chaney was a member of the Bonaparte Presbyterian church.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Leon (Edith) Franklin of Newton; and one brother, Wilbert Delker of Farmington; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers.

The funeral service was held Monday, Aug. 2, at 2 p.m. in the Bonaparte Presbyterian Church.

The Rev. Keneth Harden officiated. Burial was in Bonaparte cemetery.

Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington, was in charge of arrangements.
