Earl Johnston

Earl Johnston, son of Clark and Emma Brown Johnston was born January 4, 1896, at Lebanon, and departed this life Thursday, July 22, 1971, at his home. His entire life was lived in Lebanon.

On December 25, 1920, he was married to Esther Bonar of Milton at Bloomfield.

She remains to cherish his memory along with a son, Paul E. Johnston of Lebanon, two daughters, Margaret E. Johnston of Davenport and Mrs. Donna Beggs of Vinton, four grandchildren, Mrs. Nadine Miller, Kenneth Johnston, Theresa and Brad Beggs, other relatives and many friends. Earl was the last of a family of seven children.

He was a long time member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church and the Van Buren County Farm Bureau, and took an active part in commmunity affairs so long as his health permitted.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 26, 1971, at 2 p.m. at the Lebanon United Methodist Church, with Dr. J. Roland Crandall officiating. Mrs. Beryl Beeler was the pianist. Pall bearers were Dee Mcgrath, George Sadler, Bruce Brown, Kenneth Downard, Robert Barrow, and Wayne Boley. Interment was in the Lebanon Cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home.
