Joyce L. Marrandino 1938-2018

Joyce L. Marrandino, 79, of Keosauqua, IA, and formerly of Bonaparte, IA, and Downers Grove, IL, died February 24, 2018, at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant, IA.

Private family services will be held at a later date, with interment in the Harness Cemetery, Mt. Sterling at a later date as well. The Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 N. Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Joyce Lee Sullivan Marrandino was born September 22, 1938, in Chicago, IL. She was the daughter of James Harold and Dorothy Elizabeth (Heald) Sullivan. She grew up in Downers Grove and graduated from Downers Grove North High School.

For a number of years, Joyce was a sales associate at the Gieshe's Shoe Store in Downers Grove. She obtained her real estate license and was in the realty business for a period of time. In 1989, Joyce moved to Bonaparte to care for her parents. She became a CNA at the Keosauqua Health Care Center. She later was the librarian at the Bonaparte Public Library and the city clerk for the City of Mt. Sterling.

Joyce had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. In her spare time, she enjoyed needlepoint and puzzles. Crafts were a special love of Joyce, both in making them and collecting them.

Those thankful for sharing in Joyce's life include two daughters, Lisa Sullivan of Edgewater, FL, and Linda Sullivan-DeRosear of Bonaparte, IA; a brother, Richard Sullivan of Keosauqua, IA; four grandchildren, Shawn, Andrew, Heather and Erin Sullivan; one step grandchild, Kelly DeRosear, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Her parents and a sister, Patricia Shipps, precede Joyce in death.
