Gordon R. Warrington 1924-2018

Gordon R. Warrington, 93, of Keosauqua, IA, passed away on January 20, 2018, at Keosauqua Health Care Center in Keosauqua. He was born on December 22, 1924, in Keosauqua to Floyd and Chloe Barnett Warrington. Gordon grew up in Southeast Iowa and attended the Pierceville Country School. He enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1946 to 1947. He married Betty Heald Cutler on June 9, 1962. Together Gordon and Betty raised her three children in Keosauqua, and later moved to Burlington, IA, in March 1969.

Gordon was employed at the Iowa Ordnance Plant in Middleton for 34 years, retiring in May 1990. He was a member of the Burlington First United Methodist Church and a member of Abraham Men's Group. After Betty passed away in 2012, Gordon moved to a home in Keosauqua.

He is survived by three stepchildren, Randy (Shauna) Cutler of Keosauqua, Connie (David) Schmitt of Ankeny, IA, Teresa (Mark) Johnson of Southlake, TX; six grandchildren, Chad, Kara, Laura, Cameron, Scott, Matthew; seven great-grandchildren, Logan, Keegan, Ethan, Lukas, Aidan, Lillian, Tyler; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty; his parents; brothers and sisters.

Gordon says, “He's resting in peace and enjoying it!” Per his wishes, his body has been cremated. Memorial services will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established to Fellows Cemetery or the Mildred and Eddie Ferguson Sports Complex.
