James McWilliams

FARMINGTON - James McWilliams, 76, of rural route Revere, Mo., died at 2:30 a.m. Sunday at his home southwest of Farmington.

The son of James and Mary Hemingway McWilliams, he was born near Luray, Mo., March 2, 1893. On Dec. 22, 1918 in Scotland County, Missouri he was married to May Kerr, sho(err) survives. He was a member of the Chambersburg Methodist church.

Mr. McWilliams was a well known rockhound and exhibitor of handmade jewelry and polished gems. He was featured in many newspaper and magazine articles. He was a member of the Rocks and Relics club of Farmington and a member of Northeast Missouri Rock club.

Besides his widow he is survived by three sons, Donald of West Plaines, Mo., Douglas of Kahoka, and Richard of Keokuk, Iowa; one daughter, Mrs. J.E. (Marilyn) Otte, Kahoka; one sister, Mrs. Stella Wells, Lucerne, Mo.; 14 grandchildren and one great grandson. Two sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Karle-Shaffer Funera Home in Kahoka. The Rev. Carl Martin (will) officiate. Burial will be in Chambersburg cemetery.
