F. Shelman Dies at 71

LOCKRIDGE - V.F. Shelman, 71, Round Prairie Township farmer, died early today at the Henry County Memorial Hospital.

Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant with the Rev. Lenwood Monte and the Rev. Carl E. Wilson officiating.

Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery near Stockport. The body is at the Beatty-Jennings Funeral Chapel in Mount Pleasant.

Shelman was born Nov. 14, 1903 in Van Buren County, the son of Jesse and Myrtle Jacobs Shelman. He was married April 6, 1929 to Gladys Danielson.

Surviving are his widow, one daughter Mrs. Wayne L. King, MOunt Pleasant Route 4, and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by twin daughters and a son.

A memorial fund has been established to the respiratory therapy department of the Henry County Hospital.
