Janice Louise Redden, 78, of Decatur, passed away at Decatur Memorial Hospital on November 6, 2017. Janice was born in Stockport, IA on November 1, 1939. The oldest daughter of Harold F. "Babe" Pratt and Alvena (Pence) Pratt of Keosauqua, IA.

Janice was a 1957 graduate of Bonaparte Iowa High School. She attended the 50th [60th?] reunion of that class in the summer of 2017. Jamie attended Greenville College in Greenville, IL. and graduated summa cum laude from Iowa Wesleyan College of Mount Pleasant, IA. Janice married Richard LeRoy Redden of Decatur, IL. on December 20, 1975 in Harcourt, IA. They have made their home in Decatur, Illinois all through their married life.

Janice was always very active in the church. She was active in the choir and directed the bell choir at the Moundford Free Methodist Church in Decatur, IL.

Janice is survived by her sister Anna Bell and husband Norman (Buzz) Albin of West Branch, IA and sister Sharon Seydel and husband Tom of Iowa City, Iowa and their sons Andrew of West Branch, Iowa and son Christopher of Tipton, Iowa.

Janice taught music in the Belle Plaine and Gowrie Iowa School System. In Illinois she taught music in the Decatur Public School. She retired as a postal clerk in the United States Postal service. She will be missed.

Graveside service will be held in Broadus Cemetery in Broadus Township, Douglas County IL. at 10 AM. Funeral will be 12 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Moundford Free Methodist Church, with Rev. Paul Alf, officiating.
