EARL JOHNSTON

Earl Johnston, son of Clark and Emma Brown Johnston, was born January 4, 1896 at Lebanon and departed this life Thursday, July 22, at his home. His entire life was lived in Lebanon.

On December 25, 1920, he was married to Esther Bonar of Milton at Bloomfield.

She remains to cherish his memory along with a son, Paul E. Johnston of Lebanon; two daughters, Margaret E. Johnston of Davenport, Mrs. Donna Beggs of Vinton; four grandchildren, Mrs. Nadine Miller, Kenneth Johnston, Theresa and Brad Beggs; other relatives and many friends.

Earl was the last of a family of seven children.

He was a long-time member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church and the Van Buren County Farm Bureau, and took an active part in community affairs so long as his health permitted.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 25, at 2 p.m. at the Lebanon United Methodist Church with Dr. J. Roland Crandall officiating. Interment was in the Lebanon Cemetery.
