W.B. WELCH

W.B. (Pat) Welch, 92, died Saturday, Sept. 3 at 5 p.m. in Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for several weeks.

Mr. Welch was a retired banker, a former Van Buren County Deputy Treasurer. The son of Rev. James and Margaret Buck Welch, he was born Oct. 15, 1873, at West Point. He moved to Bonaparte when two years old.

On Dec. 31, 1902 he married Charlotte Day of Keosauqua. She died July 17, 1966. He moved to Mt. Sterling, where he was cashier in the former Mt. Sterling Savings Bank. He moved to Keosauqua in 1957.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. George Stephens and granddaughter, Charlotte Stephens, both of Holland, Mich.

Services were held Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 2 p.m. in the Keosauqua Methodist Church, with the Rev. Aldreth V. Weigel officiating, assisted by the Rev. Herbert Phillips, pastor of Mt. Sterling Methodist Church. Burial was in Bentonsport Cemetery.
