OBITUARY

Mrs. Earl Snodgrass

Osa Snodgrass, daughter of James M. and Arminta Freeman Hoskinson, was born June 17, 1894 near Corning, Iowa. For the past 31 years she had lived in or near Milton, Iowa. She passed away Sept. 7, 1963 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, Iowa after an illness of two and one-half years at the age of 69 years, two months and 21 days.

Mrs. Snodgrass joined the Methodist church at Prescott, Iowa at the age of nine. For most of her life she took a very active part in church work as officer, teacher and pianist. At the time of her death she was a member of the Milton Methodist church and also of the W.S.C.S. of the church. She gave music lessons for a number of years and also worked as a practical nurse for a number of years.

She was married to J.C. Shannon January 27, 1915, who died Sept. 7, 1915. She was married to Earl C. Snodgrass who survives. Others surviving are Lawrence Snodgrass and wife of Golden, Colorado and three grandchildren, Larry Earl, Laura Mae and Lee Ann, three sisters, Mrs. Hulda Winn of Kenosho, Wisconsin, Mrs. Iva Lamboley of Corning, Iowa and Mrs. Grethel Marsall of Washington, Iowa and one brother, Cyril B. Hoskinson of Cantril, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Beulah.

Funeral services were held Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. at the Milton Methodist church with Rev. Richard Eis in charge. Keith Gaston sang "Sunrise Tomorrow" and "I Won't Have To Cross Jordan Alone" accompanied by Mrs. Wendell King on the organ. Pallbearers were Dale Snodgrass, Cyril Hoskinson, J.C. Hoskinson, Jay Winn, Leonard Winn and Oscar Mankopf. Burial was in the Sunnyside cemetery.
