Lester Schilb

Lester Roy Schilb, 69, of Fairfield died at 6:39 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2005 at Jefferson County Hospital.

A graveside service is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Spencer Cemetery, northeast of Stockport, with the Rev. Kevin Koch officiating.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 today at the Behner Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be sent to the family.

Mr. Schilb was born Dec. 23, 1935 In Des Moines county, the son of Fred R. and Gladys L. Broughton Schilb.

He was a longtime resident of Jefferson Co Iowa. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of Korean War.

He was employed by Vohries Excavating for 20 years. He was also a truck driver for Hunsaker and Harwood Trucking and most recently a security guard at Falco.

Survivors include his wife, Doris of Fairfield; two sons, Stephen of Olathe KS., and Jeffery Schilb of Birmingham; three daughters, Glenda White of Fairfield, Linda Hammes of Ottawa, KS., and Roxie Brown of Burlington; four sisters Hester Steele, Gloria Smith and Sue Wisener, all of Birmingham and Dorothy Remick of LaHarpe, Ill.; two brothers,Thomas Ertz of Sun City, AZ. and Jack Wooldridge of Burlington: 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
