Mrs. Floyd Simmons

Mrs. Blanche Simmons, 66, of Farmington, died Friday, Apr. 5, at 6:45 a.m. in Sacred Heart Hospital, Fort Madison. She had been ill a month.

She was born Dec. 16, 1901, in Van Buren County, the daughter of Thomas Barker and Alice Smart Barker.

She married Floyd Simmons on Feb. 15, 1923 at Farmington and he survives.

She was a member of Center Chapel Methodist church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Theodore (Roberta) Kirchner of Donnellson; a brother, Raymond Barker of Wenatchee, Wash.; and 3 grandchildren.

The funeral service was held Sunday, Apr. 7, at 1:30 p.m., in the Methodist church with the Rev. Harold Schirm officiating. Burial was in Thompson cemetery, 5 miles southwest of Bonaparte.

Miller's Home for Funerals in Farmington was in charge of arrangements.
