Marilyn Boley 1931-2017

Marilyn Boley, 86, of Keosauqua, IA, passed away on August 21, 2017, at the Keosauqua Health Care Center. She was born June 4, 1931, in Fairfield, IA, to Kayle and Verna Morris Dodds. She married Ralph Boley on June 6, 1953, at the First Christian Church in Fairfield, IA. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2010.

After graduating from high school, Marilyn attended Parsons College where she earned a teaching certificate. Marilyn and Ralph farmed near Birmingham for more than 30 years. She worked as an administrator for the Department of Human Services for over 35 years. Marilyn was a member of the United Methodist Church in Stockport, the Red Hats Society and the American Legion Auxillary.

She is survived by two sons, Mark (Sue) Boley of Maxwell, IA, Jim (Barb) Boley of Keosauqua, IA; a daughter, Jane (Jose) Quintanar of Dallas, TX; a sister, Kaylene (Tony) Wingate of Boone, IA; six grandchildren, Brooke, Matt, Nick, Tyler, Rafael, Lorna, Gustav, Johanna; and six great-grandchildren, and Jonas (Kicki) Kvarnemo of Sweden, a foreign exchange student hosted by Ralph and Marilyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, June Girard.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2017, at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua with Pastor Herb Shafer officiating. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday with the family present to greet friends from 5-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to Morris Park, HCI Hospice of Central Iowa, and the United Methodist Church. - Stockport.
