Lynn E. Pender, 73, died August 9, 2017, at his home in Blairstown, IA. Funeral services were held August 12, 2017, at Norway Methodist Church with Pastor Crystal Oberheu officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown. Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton was in charge of arrangements.

Lynn Edward Pender was born September 23, 1943, to Philip and Velma (Carter) Pender in Milton, IA. He graduated from Fox Valley High School. He was united in marriage to Shirley Eggenburg on October 16, 1976, in Muscatine. Lynn worked as a meat cutter for several area supermarkets and for Sutton Meat Locker in Newhall.

He is survived by his wife Shirley of Blairstown; his children, Todd (Julie Arnold) Pender, Trena Wiederhold, Troy (Robin Harris) Pender, all of Cedar Rapids, Greg Carter of Iowa City, Jadean Roggentien of Belle Plaine and Jennifer (Doug) Wilson of Decorah; his eleven grandchildren; his eleven great-grandchildren; his two sisters, Marcella (Bill) Prevo of Bloomfield, IA, Marlene (John Jordan) Henry of Memphis, MO, his two brothers, Leo (Pat) Pender of Silvas, IL, and Larry (Barb) Pender of Burlington, his sisters-in-law, Donna Pender of East Moline, IL, Gene Pender of Columbus, GA, and his brother-in-law, Larry Moffitt of Leon.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Mildred Martin, Marjorie Harward and Mary Lou Moffet, and his brothers, Lester, Lawrence and Lowell.
