Betty Clemenson 1931-2017

Betty Elaine Clemenson, 86, formerly of Farmington, IA, resident of Keosauqua Health Care Center, went home to be with her Lord August 8, 2017, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Born March 28, 1931, in St. Paul, MN, she was the daughter of Harvey Ray and Lillian Cowan McVeigh. She married Raymond Walter Clemenson in Primrose, IA, on August 11, 1950.

Survivors include five sons: Gary (Norita) Clemenson, Farmington; John Scott (Carol) Clemenson, Westcliffe, CO; Dennis (Diana) Clemenson, Smith Center, KS; Kevin (Wanda) Clemenson, Keosauqua, James (Lisa) Clemenson, Everett, WA; one daughter: Susan (Keith) Hemmings, Farmington; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one granddaughter, one great-grandson, two brothers and one sister.

Betty graduated from Montrose High School in 1948. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and supporting her
beloved St. Louis Cardinals. She was an avid reader. Above all, Betty loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. Betty was a true example of a Christian. Most important to her was "to someday meet all of my family in heaven.” She was a member of the Bonaparte Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held August 11, 2017, at the Bonaparte Baptist Church, with Pastor Mark Caston officiating. Burial was in Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington. The memorials will go to the Farmington Food Pantry and the Bonaparte Baptist Church.

Schmitz Funeral Home, Farmington, was in charge of the arrangements.
