MRS. THOMAS LaMERE
Mrs. Laura Esther La Mere, 69, of rural route Farmington (Croton) died Thursday, Aug. 18, at 7 p.m. at her home in Croton.
She was born Feb. 19, 1897 in Croton, the daughter of Otto and Lillian Hancock Saltzgaver, and was a lifelong resident of Croton.
She was married to Thomas LaMere who survives. She was a member of the Methodist church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Fred E. Mast of Grants Pass, Oreg.; three daughters, Mrs. Ila Border, Mrs. Lavina Phipps, both of Davenport, and Mrs. Betty Walker of Canton, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. John (Myrtle) McCarty of Keokuk; two brothers, Lester Saltzgaver of Eldon and Otto Saltzgaver of Eldon and Otto Saltzgaver of Keokuk; and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents and one sister, Mary.
The funeral service was held Monday, Aug. 22, at 2 p.m. in Miller's Home for Funerals in Farmington. The Rev. Grover Senf of Fort Madison, pastor officiated. Burial was in Croton cemetery.
