Stanley Keasling

Funeral services for Stanley W. Keasling, 72, who died at his home in Clermont, Fla., Aug. 13, were held Friday Aug. 16, 1968 at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Clermont with Father Arthur Dunnegan officiating.

He had been in ill health for the last several months.

Born in Bonaparte, Iowa, Oct. 17, 1895, he was the son of Charles F. and Mary Woodin Keasling.

He married Helen Helling of Ft. Madison.

After serving with the Navy during World War I, he was graduated from the University of Iowa college of pharmacy in 1921 and started practicing his profession in Fort Madison.

Later he associated with William Bergman at 523 Main Street in Keokuk from 1929 until he opened Keasling's Drug Store in 1939 at 1414 Main, Keokuk. He remained active in its operation until his retirement in 1966.

He was a member of the St. Joseph hospital lay advisory board, Keokuk.

Survivors include his wife, Helen, a son, Hugh H. of Modesto, Calif., a brother, Hugh of Denver, Colo., a sister, Miss Della Keasling of Little Rock, Ark., and a sister, Mrs. I.V. Hirschler of Des Moines, Ia., and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Charles.

The Rosary was recited Thursday, Aug.15 at 8:30 p.m. at the Kurfiss Chapel with burial at Oakhill Cemetery, Clermont, Florida.
