Isaac J. Hummell

Funeral services for Isaac J. Hummell, 88, of Stockport, were held from the Beatty Funeral Chapel in Salem, Thursday, Dec. 9, 1965 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Patrick Kelly officiating.

Mr. Hummell passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Max Waters of Blakesburg, Iowa, Tuesday morning, Dec. 7, where he had gone Sunday, Dec. 5 to make his home for the winter.

Music was provided by Mrs. Gordon Watts, organist and Mrs. Delmar Barton, soloist. Bearers were Glenn Hummell, Pete Meyer, Burton Parks, Wayne Waters and Donald Wright.

Interment was in Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.

He was born July 3, 1877, in Henry County, the son of Dennis and Elizabeth Faucett Hummell. Mr. Hummell was a retired farmer and had lived in the Stockport community most of his life.

On Dec. 24, 1899, he was married to Ella Trueblood, who preceded him in death last April.

Surviving are two sons, Carl Hummell of Stockport and Guy Hummell of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Blanche Pringle of Springville and Mattie Waters of Blakesburg; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

His parents, three brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.
