Louise M. Johnston

Louise Maxine Johnston, age 68, of Baring, Missouri, passed away early Thursday morning (June 29, 1995) at Grim-Smith Hospital in Kirksville, Missouri.

Born December 12, 1926, in Hillsboro, Iowa, she was the daughter of Bruce N. and Helen Maxine Miller Boley.

On November 30, 1947, in Keosauqua, Iowa, at the home of her parents she was united in marriage to Ralph M. Johnston and he survives.

Also surviving are three children, Susan Stone of Edina, Missouri, Craig Johnston and his wife, Carole of Oceanside, California and John Johnston of Baring, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Clara Whitcanack and her husband, Rex of Nevada, Iowa; two aunts, Marie Ruby and Ethel Miller both of Ottumwa, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Johnston attended grade school at Mt. Zion Country School in Iowa and graduated from high school in Keosauqua, Iowa. On May 27, 1995, she attended the fifty year class reunion of her class in Keosauqua, Iowa.

Louise was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church, Greensburg Cemetery Association and an honorary member of Greensburg Willing Workers. Also a member of Greensburg Chapter #258 Order of the Eastern Star. She served as Worthy Matron in 1969 and 1977.

Louise and her husband, Ralph were engaged in farming in the Greensburg community where they have resided. She enjoyed sewing, all types of hand needlework and most of all, her family and friends.

Eastern Star Services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday (June 30, 1995) at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel, Edina, Missouri. The service will be conducted by Greensburg Chapter #258 Order of the Eastern Star.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 Saturday (July 1, 1995) at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina, Missouri. The Reverend Ernest Deatrick will officiate the service. Musical selections will be "One Day At A Time" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Burial will be in Greensburg Cemetery, Greensburg, Missouri.

Casket bearers will be Max Kapfer, Earl Kapfer, Richard Clark, Ralph Davis, Charles McFarland and James Taylor.

Honorary bearers will be John Taylor, jerry Taylor, Wallace Elder, Mike Townsend, Mark Townsend and Hillis Mallett.

Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Friday (June 30, 1995) at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina, Missouri. Family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the
