IN MEMORIAM

Gladys Elizabeth, daughter of S.R. and Lena Wiley Howard, was born on a farm northeast of Mt. Zion Iowa on Sept. 15, 1911. She lived in this vicinity until 1944 when she moved to Birmingham, Iowa.

She was married to Lester Lindsay on December 29, 1946. She passed away in the Jefferson County hospital on January 8, 1950, aged 38 years, 3 months, and 24 days, after a long illness. She graduated from the Keosauqua high school in 1931. Early in her life, she united with the Mt. Zion Presbyterian church. After her marriage, she transferred her membership to the Birmingham Presbyterian church.

She leaves to mourn her passing her devoted husband, her parents, six brothers, percy of Birmingham, Iowa, Harold, Craig, Wendell and Forrest of Sacremento, Calif., Richard of Denver, Colorado, and one sister, Mrs. Sidney Woolever (Lena Pearl), also of Sacremento, Calif., several nieces and nephews, also several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, uncles, aunts, cousins, and a host of friends.
