Sarah Ellen West was born December, 8, 1867; died February, 4, 1906, being 39 years 1 month and 26 days.

On Jan., 23, 1881 Sarah Ellen West was married to Charles Vance of Utica, Iowa, and to this union were born twelve children, eight of whom are living, four dying in early childhood. During her residence in Utica she acknowledged her faith in Christ and was taken into the M.E. Church.

After her removal to Stockport, which was about two years ago, she handed in her letter to the M.E. Church at this place of which she was a member at the time of her death.

She was a kind neighbor and a loving mother.

Funeral services were held at the M.E. church Tuesday at 1 o'clock with Rev. When of Bentonsport in charge. The cortege was in care of Undertaker S.M. Whitmer. The remains were laid to rest in the Dibble cemetery.
