Will of Gideon S. Bailey, 1899

I, Gideon S. Bailey of the County of Van Buren and State of Iowa, being of sound disposing mind and of full age do, hereby make and ordain this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made.

1st. I decree that all expenses incurred during and attending my last sickness ard death shall be first paid, also whatever other debts, if any, that may be owing by me at the time of my decease, shall be paid out of any moneys or personal property I may have at that time.

2d. After all the above debts and expenses are paid in full I then devise, give and bequeath to my beloved wife Anna M. Bailey and to my son Gideon C. S. Bailey all the residue of my estate both real and personal in whatever it may consist or wherever situated at my decease share and share alike to be used and disposed of by them precisely the same as I myself might do were I living.

3d. I hereby appoint my wife Anna M. Bailey and my son Gideon C. S. Bailey as my executors of this will and request that they give no bonds as executors.

Executed this 19th day of August, 1899.

We, N. G. Brown of Bentonsport, Iowa, and Walter Bradford of Vernon, Iowa certify that we witnessed the signature of G. S. Bailey claiming this to be his last will and testament and in his presence and in presence of each other and at his request.
