Will of N. G. Brown, 1903

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS,

That I, N. G. Brown of Van Buren County and State of Iowa being of sound mind and memory do make declare and publish this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made.

Item 1. Subject to the payment of all expenses of my last sickness and funeral, I will devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Lutitia A. Brown, all the estate of which I may die seized and possessed, both personal and real, absolutely to do and dispose of as she may deem fit; except as hereinafter provided.

Item 2d. To my daughters, Cora L. MacDonald and Hattie R. Greef I will and bequeath the sum of one hundred ($100) dollars each and to my son Elbert N. Brown the sum of one hundred ($100) dollars and to my step-son William C. Fields the sum of Fifty ($50.00) dollars.

Itein 3d. I hereby appoint my beloved wife Lutitia A. Brown my Executrix of this my last Will and Testament, and hereby exonerate her from the giving of any bonds, ard desire that she shall not make or cause to be made any list or inventory of property either real or personal of which I may die seized to the District Court and authorize her, without any orders from the Court, to sell and dispose of any such property as she may deem best, and to execute conveyances thereof.

Item 4th. I furthermore exonerate her from the making of any report to the Court except after this Will is probated to file with the Court the receipts taken for the above bequests and when so done this shall constitute her only and final report.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 25th day of March, A. D., 1903.

Witnesses. On this 25th day of March A. D., 1903, the foregoing instrument was in our presence signed and executed by the above named Noah G. Brown and by him declared to be his last Will and Testament and at his request, and in his presence and in the presence of each other we have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.
