Hibbert Kilgore passed away Sunday afternoon. Funeral services were held Tuesday Afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home and were conducted by Rev. Owen Thomas of Fontanelle. The singing was furnished by Mrs. F. M. Webb, Miss Josephine Suttou, Will Smith and E. O. Polson. Those acting as pallbearers were, with one exception, nephews of the deceased. Relatives from Des Moines, Lenox, Diagnonal, Creston, and Shannon City were in attendance at the services besides many neighbors and friends.

Hibert Kilgore was born May 25, 1856 and the time of his death was 68 years, 10 months and 6 days of age. He moved to Adams County, Iowa with his parents where they remained 25 years, coming to Cromwell March 1, 1918, where he has since resided.

He will be missed. He was of a friendly nature, having a jovial social dispostion and before overcome by disease, he was a familiar character on the streets talking and chatting with friends and neighbors.

He leaves to mourn his departure four brothers and two sisters, namely Taylor of Diagonal, Noah of Red Oak, Albert of Ewing, Nebraska and John of Cromwell, two sisters Mrs. Sarah Holt of Creston and Mary of Cromwell. One sister and three brothers preceded him in death. A number of nephews and nieces remain to mourn his death.

While in poor health for several months, his final illness was only of about two weeks duration. He had the best of care that sister, brother and medical skill and loving hands could bestow when death came to relieve h;is suffering and he pased quietly away.

He was well known in this neighborhood because of his long residing in the community. He was an effectionate brother, a kind friend and peaceable with all. Interment was made in Maple Hill Cemetery beside the mother who passed away some twelve years ago and with whom he oft expressed the desire to be reunited. The father died about eighteen years ago.
