94th Shannon City Alumni Banquet

Seventy-five alumni and guests attended the 94th Shannon City Alumni Banquet held Saturday, May 29 at the Eagle's Club in Creston. Co-chair women were Bonnie ERGENBRIGHT BAKER (1950), Linda FOY JAMES (1960) of Creston, and Ann COMER SANSON (1959) of Clarinda.

Registration started at 3 p.m. so guests could spend time visiting before a 5 p.m. supper. The invocation was given by Lee AYERS (1945) of Webster City.

Each member was introduced starting with the 50th (1954) graduates. They were Dale GREENE (Mount Ayr); Lila KELLER GREEN (Creston); Ron JONES (Afton); Robert LAND (Florence, KS); and Patricia DUNLAP REED (Martensdale).

Five graduates attending were clelbrating their 55th, 60th and 65th banquets. They were (55th) Alvin CLOUGH, Bob CONARD; (60th) Loren GEHRKE; (65th) Bernice RUNDLETT HARDMAN and Dean SWANSON.

After a short business meeting the evening was spent visiting. By unanimous approval BAKER, JAMES and SANSON will be in charge of the banquet next year. The date has been set for Saturday, May 28, 2004, at the Eagle's Club, starting with registration at 3 p.m. and supper being served at 5 p.m.

A free-will donation was taken with half being sent to the Oakland Cemetery Maintenance Fund in Shannon City.
