My great grandfather, Samuel Thompson was in the first voting group in Union County. My grandfather graduated from Lorimor High School in the class of 1901. He was also the Postmaster of Lorimor in the early 1900's. My gandfather Wesley and family left Lorimor for Texas. Came back in late 1890's. I believe with James A. Braman and his family in covered wagons before 1900, as Wes graduated LHS in 1901.
He, Irvin and Alf played in the Post Office Band. My grandmother Nettie Blanche Wright, from DeMoines Played the piano in several local churches.Probably Methodist because Dora Delmege taught Sunay School There, there. Barney church too. Hugh lived there in 1850 Union County Census. I am related to the Jam-e/i-sons, Combs, Mertz, Delmege, and others. I visited Eva Oglesbe in early 200's before she passed away and her daughter in the tavern in Lorimor. She helped me get a copy of the "First Hundred Years.
