I have hit a dead end on finding the parent names of my gg grandfather, Isaac J. H. Sherman. He died in Taylor County 18 Feb, 1895 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery. I have a clear picture of his headstone, but I am wondering if the cemetery records would have more complete information, such as his place of birth and most importantly, the names of his parents. A remote cousin has assumed the names of his parents, but this is no paper trail to prove it. The paper trail is important because if his assumption is correct, we would be related to important men from colonial days.
