Glenn Lucien Taylor was born on Nov. 24, 1909 in Merrill, Plymouth Co., Iowa and died on Jun. 2, 1988 in La Mesa, San Diego, CA. He married Marie Gladys Chapman Turner on Sep. 1, 1937 in San Diego, CA. Marie Gladys, daughter of Sydney Chapman and Esther Louise Row, was born on Oct. 15, 1908 in Howard Mines, Chattry, Williamson, Mingo Co, WV and died on Jul. 20, 2000 in La Mesa, San Diego, CA.

Glenn was the son of Owen Taylor and Alice Minerva Kellogg.

Glenn lived in Merrill and Plymouth Iowa from 1909 until the 1930s.

Glenn worked for 38 years for Pacific Bell telephone as an inside repairman/switchman. He took every overtime callout he could.

He built and sold at least 3 houses including one at 4561 Panorama Dr., La Mesa, CA and two in El Cajon, CA.
He sold some houses as a real estate agent.

Glenn Lucian Taylor, a resident of La Mesa for the past 52 years died of leukemia Thursday (June 2, 1988) in Grossmont Hospital. He was 78.
A service is planned Monday morning at 10 at Greenwood Mortuary. Mr. Taylor was born in Merrill, Iowa, in 1909. He moved to San Diego in 1936 and worked as a switchman for Pacific Bell before retiring in 1975 after 38 years of service. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Marie; a daughter, Sharon Taylor of San Diego; a son, Lloyd Taylor of San Francisco; and a sister Erma Taylor of Salem, OR.
