Pneumonia Claims Young Man

Jeffrey Brekke, a nineteen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Brekke, of Blue Earth, Minn., passed away at the home of his parents on Saturday, March 15, 1924. The young man had been in his usual health and was a student at the Mankato schools, when he was taken sick with pneumonia two weeks ago. The funeral was held from the Lutheran church at Blue Earth on Tuesday, Rev. Severson preaching the funeral sermon. The Brekke family formerly resided in this community, where they are well known, the father of the young man being a son of Mrs. Gunder Thompson.

OBITUARY

Jeffrey Marion Brakke, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Brakke, was born near Roland, Iowa, on February 19, 1905 and died at his home near Blue Earth, Minn., on March 15, 1924, being 19 years of age. He leaves to mourn his departure, besides his parents, one sister, Eula and four brothers, Adrian, Burdette, Vern and Everette.

When three weeks old he with his parents moved to Elmore, Minn., and lived in that vicinity for fifteen years, moving four years ago to Blue Earth, Minn.

He was confirmed in the Norwegian Lutheran church at Blue Earth in the class of 1920, by Rev. Omar Brenne.

The past three months he had attended the Mankato Commercial College at Mankato, Minn., returning home March first and was taken seriously sick with bronchial pneumonia, March 8th.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. W. Geiselquist, of Elmore, former minister of the family, and Rev. S. Theo. Sivertson, of Blue Earth. Interment took place in the Blue Earth cemetery.
