Respected Resident of Southwest Howard Passed Away Last Week. Funeral Held Last Saturday.

The funeral of Mrs. A. J. Raymond was held from Salem Lutheran church last Saturday afternoon, Rev. J. N. Sandven preaching the words of comfort to the family. Interment took place in the Roland cemetery.

Ellen Regina Johnson Hoversten was born in Rennesų, near Stavanger, Norway, May 28, 1865. She came to this country in April, 1896, making her home with the J. J. Hoversten family for the most part of two years. On August 13, 1898, she was united in marriage to Mr. Andrew J. Raymond. Four children were born to this union, one of whom died in infancy. Those surviving their mother are Julia, Josiah, and Bertha, all of whom are at the parental home. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Soren Anderson, of Waubay, S. Dak.; and one sister in Norway to mourn her death.

Mrs. Raymond had been in her usual health unti the morning of Monday, February 18th, when she complained of severe pains. Medical aid was summoned and all that could possibly be done to relieve her suffering, was done, but she passed away that same night. Her death occurred on Monday February 18, 1924, at the age of 59 years, 8 months and 20 days. The deceased was one of the quiet women who loved her family and her home and it is there that her loss will be most keenly felt and the sympathy of the community goes out to the family in their hour of sorrow.
