OBITUARY OF ASSER LURA.

Was Native of Norway and Lived in North Dakota

Special to the Journal.
McCallsburg, Jan. 18--Asser Lura whose death was mentioned in the last issue was born Sept. 10, 1858 at Sandness, Norway. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Aslakson. He came to America at the age of thirty years and settled in Trail county, N. D. He spent several years there when he decided to go still further west. He spent the greater part of his years since coming to this country. The deceased came to this county twelve years ago and since then has made his home with his niece, Mr. and Mrs. George Vallem. Mr. Lura never married. He leaves to mourn his death one sister, Mrs. Itse of Northfield, Minn., and two brothers, Ingvold living at Montreal, Canada and Knut Lura living at this place. Funeral services were held Wednesday at one o'clock from the Vallem home and 1:30 from the Lutheran church, Rev. Benson preaching the funeral sermon. Mrs. O. E. Ritland sang a solo and Misses Fern Christian and Ruth Benson sang a duet. He was a very quiet man and spent most of his time at home.
