Etnire Funeral Was Held Sunday Afternoon

Collins, Jan. 14--The funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Etnier, 81, whose death occurred January 10 at her home in Collins, were held Sunday afternoon they being n charge of her old time friend, Rev. C. E. Lookingbill of Nevada. Interment was in the cemetery at Colo by the side of her husband who was called January 2, 1918. The services were largely attended.

She was born in York county, Pennsylvania, June 9, 1842 and passed away at her home in Collins January 10, 1924, aged 81 years, 7 months and 1 day. When a child about nine years of age she came with her parents to Princeton, Illinois and lived and around that city until her marriage to Samuel Etnier, which occurred March 10, 1864. Following their marriage they made their home in Fulton, Bureau and McLean counties, Ill., until 1894, when they came out to Iowa and located at Smayville then a shall inland trading post northwest of Colo.

In 1917 they gave up their active work on the farm and moved into a fine home in Collins where the husband died on January 2 of the following year.

Mrs. Etnire leaves to mourn her death four daughters and three sons, one son, Harry, having died in infancy. The children in the order of their age are Della Arnold of Colo, Clara Elbert of Cooksville, Ill., Minnie Homan of St. Paul, Arthur Etnire of Collins, Annie Shearer of Marshalltown, Samuel Etnire of Sheffield and Gail Etnire of Colo.

She also leaves one brother Robert Jontz of Baxter, and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren besides a host of friends to mourn her passing.
