Funeral Services at State Center Today for Martin Melisch*

Colo, Dec. 11--Funeral services were being held this afternoon at 2:00 at the St. Paul's Lutheran church in State Center for Martin Melisch* sr., who died Thursday morning at the home o his daughter, Mrs. Otto Richter, near Colo. The services were in charge of his pastor, Rev. A. H. Schultz and burial will be in Hillsdale cemetery, State Center.

Death was due to kidney trouble and complications. He was born the 26th day of May, 1859 in Province Brandenburg, Drauchausen, Germany. On November 1, 1881, he came to Marshall county. He was married to Marie Riese on November 2, 1882 in the French Grove Lutheran church. Mr. and Mrs. Mehlisch made their home in Kossuth county for 18 years and then moved to a farm northwest of State Center, where they made their home until 1919, when they moved to State Center. Since the death of his wife three years ago, he has made his home with his daughter.

Surviving are the three sons, Martin of Zearing, John of Colo and William of State Center; two daughters, Mrs. Otto Richter of Colo and Mrs. Henry Hamelau of Winnebago, Minn. His wife and two children preceded him in death. Twenty-nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.
