Sister Mary Barbara Died Early Today at Denver, Colorado

Miss Bernadine Ellen Telfer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Telfer, 1220 Eighth street, who is know in religion as Sister Mary Barbara, a member of the Catholic religious order "The Servants of Mary," died at St. Francis sanitarium Denver, Colo., at seven o'clock this morning according to a message reaching her parents early today.

The boy will be sent to Omaha, Neb., at midnight tonight where the funeral services and interment will be held. Funeral arrangements which will be in charge of the religious order to which the deceased was a member, will be announced later.

A teacher in the Holy Name Cathedral parish in Omaha, Neb. for the past two years, Sister Barbara became ill during the fall and was sent to the Denver Sanitorium where she arrived on New Year's Day. Here everything science could do for pulmonary tuberculosis was done for her. When her mother spent a month with her a few weeks ago she seemed to be regaining her health.

Sister Barbara a graduate of the Nevada High school with the class of 1926 would have been 30 years of age on June 14. She dedicated her life to the service of religion, and on June 19, 1929, entered the order "Servants of Mary," a religious order with its headquarters in Omaha, Neb. She made her first profession in 1930 and would have taken her final vows this june.

Talented in music, she was given two years of college training, part of which was taken at the University of Colorado. She taught piano for two years at Detroit, Mich., and two years at Sioux City previous to going to the Cathedral parish in Omaha.

Sister Barbara was born in Gilmore City where she attended the parochial schools until coming to Nevada where she registered for her senior year.

She is survived by her parents, her sister, Mrs. Esther Dayhuff of Dallas Center, her brothers Edward of Red Oak, Charles and Robert at home and her sister, Miss Mary Telfer of Nevada.

Members of the family will drive to Omaha for the funeral service.
